Minnesota Vikings: Several players return to practice

Going into Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, there are several important Minnesota Vikings players who are on the injury report.

The Minnesota Vikings have been struggling with injuries this season.  They have two offensive linemen, two linebackers, one defensive tackle and one cornerback on injured reserve as well as an offensive lineman on IR with the designation to return.  When you sprinkle in the minor injuries that players get and serious things like concussions, we have a Vikings team that is all beat up.

Here are the big names and their statuses for the injured Minnesota Vikings and their status for Sunday’s game:

Teddy Bridgwater was a full participant in practice.  Following that disgusting hit from Lamarcus Joyner which concussed him, Bridgewater has cleared protocol and will suit up for the Vikings on Sunday.

  • Terence Newman had a full practice.  The cornerback also suffered a concussion in last week’s game against the Rams.  However, he’s good to go for Sunday.
  • Sharrif Floyd returned to action.  He’s missed three games with a leg injury, but looks to be on track for action in Oakland against the Raiders.

    Anthony Barr

    practiced with the first team.

He is dealing with an arm issue that could limit him some, but it doesn’t seem severe enough that the Vikings will sit the former first round draft pick.

  • Eric Kendricks took the field today.  However, he wasn’t practicing with the first team.  Brandon Watts was getting the first team reps as he watched from the sidelines.
  • Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has said that he expects both Kendricks and Barr to be starting on Sunday.  He also stated that Bridgewater and Floyd looked to have a good chance of playing according to an article on the Star Tribune website.

You can hopefully see all these gentlemen from the Minnesota Vikings in action when the team takes on the Oakland Raiders on November 15, 2015.
