Minnesota Vikings: Bears game could be flexed to Sunday night

The Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears game scheduled for Dec. 20 is reportedly under consideration to be flexed to Sunday night.

The NFL’s flexible scheduling policy hasn’t mattered much to the Vikings in recent years, but with the Vikes now surging into playoff contention, Minnesota’s games are becoming hot primetime commodities.

According to one report, the Vikings-Bears game scheduled for Noon CT on December 20 is a potential target to be flexed.

The Vikings haven’t exactly been good in primetime in recent years, so maybe it’s not great news that they’re reportedly in line to receive an extra Sunday night game?

More from The Viking Age

Then again, maybe what the Vikings need as they head into the playoffs is more primetime games.

The more the Vikings play under the spotlight, the more they will get accustomed to everything that comes with that.

Primetime games mess with your schedule, your internal clock, your routine. All of that.

A team like the Patriots that has played so many big games over the years gains an advantage by that experience. They know the drill.

The Vikings can only learn the drill by taking part in meaningful games late in the season under primetime pressure.

And if the Vikings continue to wilt when the lights are brightest? Then maybe they don’t belong in the playoffs anyway.
