17. (tie) Vikings destroy Cowboys in playoffs, 1999 and 2009
Jan. 9, 2000. The Minnesota Vikings whupped up on the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
With Jeff George at QB, the Vikings torched the Cowboys 27-10. Randy Moss tormented Dallas once again, catching five balls for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Cris Carter had a relatively quiet day with only one reception for five yards, but that one catch was a touchdown.
Jan. 17, 2010. Ten years after whipping Dallas in the first round, the Vikings repeated the feat.
Brett Favre’s first playoff game with the Vikings resulted in a 34-3 thrashing of the Cowboys.
Sidney Rice caught six passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns.
Don’t call these games revenge for the infamous Drew Pearson game, because nothing can ever truly balance out that travesty.
But it still feels good any time you can bounce the Cowboys from the playoffs.
