Minnesota Vikings vs. Giants flexed to Sunday Night Football
By Dan Zinski
Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants has been flexed to Sunday Night Football.
Like it or not, the Vikings will have to play another regular season prime time game in 2015.
With the Vikings firmly in the Wild Card race and the Giants in the middle of a three-way scrum for the NFC East title, the NFL has flexed the December 27 Minnesota-New York game at TCF Bank Stadium to Sunday night.
The game will now begin at 7:30 CT.
I don’t need to remind Viking fans that Minnesota doesn’t have all that great a record this year in games that have started outside the noon CT Sunday slot.

The Vikings dropped the season opener in San Francisco, a Monday night late start. Their second loss of the season came week 4 against Denver, a game that started at 3:25 CT.
Loss number 3 came against the Packers week 11, in a game that kicked off at 3:15. Their most recent loss came on Thursday Night Football against Arizona.
The Vikings did manage to sneak in a win against the Raiders in a 3 PM game.
It’s a little too early to guess what the weather will be like December 27 in Minneapolis, but the potential certainly exists for bad conditions to descend, and with the game being played at night it will only be that much colder.
It’s possible Tom Coughlin’s face, which didn’t fare very well when the Giants and Packers squared off in that memorable NFC title game at Lambeau in arctic conditions, could be in for another rough evening at TCF.
But of course NBC doesn’t really care about Tom Coughlin’s face or the fans’ comfort or frankly the quality of play between the two teams. They just want that New York market share.
