Harrison Smith returns to practice for Vikings
By Dan Zinski
Harrison Smith and Andrew Sendejo both participated in practice for the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.
The Minnesota Vikings defense is slowly-but-surely getting back to full strength.
Per the Minneapolis StarTribune, safeties Harrison Smith and Andrew Sendejo both participated in the Vikings’ latest practice session. Smith was held out of practice on Tuesday so this is pretty big news.
Another piece of slightly encouraging news: DT Linval Joseph was able to jog during individual drills but did not participate in the period of practice open to the media.

Joseph has missed the last two weeks with a foot injury and on Tuesday the Vikings reportedly worked out a pair of nose tackles, leading to speculation that Joseph might miss this weekend’s game as well.
I wish I had good news to pass along about linebacker Anthony Barr but reportedly Barr was not present at practice on Wednesday. It’s looking like Barr will miss this week’s game.
Even if the Vikings don’t get Barr and Joseph back on the field, it will be huge for them to at least get Smith back out there against the Bears.
It’s good news that Sendejo is able to participate in practice as the Vikings need all the depth they can muster in the secondary but frankly Sendejo wasn’t playing that great before he was injured.
Rookie Anthony Harris did an acceptable job against the Cardinals and could be an option to remain in the starting lineup even when Sendejo is healthy enough to return.
