Minnesota Vikings enjoying high television viewing share
By Adam Carlson
More fans than ever are tuning in to watch the Minnesota Vikings during the 2015 NFL season, giving hope to even higher numbers when U.S. Bank Stadium opens.
It’s always fun to watch your favorite team when they’re winning. With the Minnesota Vikings in contention for a possible NFC North Championship and a playoff berth, they’ve become must-watch television. Minnesota has already been flexed into another prime time game this year, proving that it’s more than just the local fans tuning in to watch this young, dynamic team.
Back in Minnesota, the Vikings are dominating television viewing. According to an article on the TwinCities.com Pioneer Press website, the team is experiencing “historic highs” in tv viewing share, netting a 69% television share with several games exceeding 70%. It is possible that the team could find themselves with an even higher share next season when U.S. Bank Stadium opens for 2016.
The Minnesota Vikings executive vice president for public affairs Lester Bagley is very excited about these numbers. He released a statement regarding the great viewership, discussing how previous seasons saw the team only being viewed by approximately 60-64% of the local audience and how things have turned around for the team.

There are many factors which could contribute to the increase in viewership: coaching, a fresh quarterback, a winning record and much more. But the bottom line is that fans seem much more willing to spend their time watching the Minnesota Vikings than before.
In fact, the team is “in the league’s top three for video view and among the top five for photo views” this season.
You can watch the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 20. 2015 when they take on the Chicago Bears at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
