The NFL’s regular season has only 3 weeks left and the playoff situations are becoming clearer. While some teams have already clinched spots or have won their division, the Minnesota Vikings are still trying to do both of those things this year.

Thanks to Vikings.com for sharing the scenarios before Thursday Night’s game between the St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we can now figure out what needs to happen during week 15 for the Vikings to get a playoff spot. Things cleared up a little more now that the Rams have pulled off a win over the Buccaneers, the situations get a little clearer.

Here is how the Minnesota Vikings can earn a playoff spot if they can beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday:

  • Washington Redskins loss or tie AND Atlanta Falcons loss or tie
  • Washington Redskins loss or tie AND Seattle Seahawks loss or tie
  • New York Giants loss or tie AND Atlanta Falcons loss or tie
  • New York Giants loss or tie AND Seattle Seahawks loss or tie

Here is how the Minnesota Vikings can earn a playoff spot if the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears tie on Sunday:

  • Atlanta Falcons loss or tie AND Philadelphia Eagles loss or tie  AND Washington Redskins loss
  • Atlanta Falcons loss or tie AND Philadelphia Eagles loss or tie AND New York Giants loss
