Cornerback Ed Sharockman played his college ball for the Panthers before being taken 57th overall by the Vikings in the 1961 draft.
In a career that spanned 12 years, from the Vikings’ inaugural season of 1961 all the way into the Bud Grant era, Sharockman recorded 40 interceptions and 9 fumble recoveries.
That’s the kind of ballhawking that happens when you have players like Alan Page and Jim Marshall chasing the quarterback.
