While exhibition play doesn’t have the same kind of excitement as regular season contests, they are a great way to see some of the under the radar players who might be up and comers as well as see competitions for starting positions and roster spots fought for.

Thanks to the official Minnesota Vikings website, we now know who the opponents will be for the Vikings this preseason, along with some dates and whether or not they will be home or road games. Here is that information:

More from The Viking Age

  1. Aug. 12-14 @ Cincinnati Bengals
  2. Aug. 19-21 @ Seattle Seahawks
  3. Aug. 28 vs. San Diego Chargers
  4. Sept. 1 vs. Los Angeles Rams

While it’s still weird seeing the words “Los Angeles Rams” written out, it’s interesting to note that the first two preseason games will be on the road against playoff caliber teams. These will be good challenges, especially the Bengals, where current Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was the defensive coordinator.

Perhaps the most interesting game will come on August 28th, as a national audience will get a chance to see the beautiful U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time in an exhibition game against the San Diego Chargers. The game will be seen on Fox and will be a great way to introduce football fans to the billion dollar facility.
