Since U.S. Bank Stadium construction is substantially complete, artists have started on their Minnesota Vikings murals to line the walls of the facility.
As fans of the Minnesota Vikings, it is easy to think of U.S. Bank Stadium as the future home of professional football in the land of 10,000 lakes. However, there is much more to the structure than just the hard-fought games on the field.

To go along with all of the fantastic features in the building itself, it was previously announced that local artists as well as former Vikings players would be contributing artwork to the facility. Now that the construction is substantially complete, these artists have taken to the building to being their pieces.
As described on the official Minnesota Vikings website, Minnesota Vikings Vice President of Partnership Activation and Special Projects Tanya Dreesen is very proud of the assortment of artwork that will go into the collection, including the diverse topics and artists involved in the program.
"“This collection was born of the community with over 100 artists commissioned, approximately 85 from right here in Minnesota. Our collection celebrates the bold north and shows the innovation, resilience and relentlessness of Minnesotans. Through these artists’ imagination, creativity and talent we’re showing the world how special Minnesota is,” Dreesen said."

Included in the artwork will be some sprawling murals which will cover the corridors of U.S. Bank Stadium. These projects often take a long time to complete, so allowing these artists into the facility while the rest of the building gets ready for concerts, events, and Minnesota Vikings football is a huge benefit for everyone involved.
Here is what the Minnesota Vikings had to say about the artwork in the new facility:
"“Commissioned artwork from local residents is part of the commitment to honor the Minneapolis-St. Paul community and the state of Minnesota in U.S. Bank Stadium. More than 1,100 interested artists submitted their previous works and ideas for the new stadium in early 2015 and the list of selected artists was announced in October 2015. Former Vikings Matt Blair, Carl Eller and Jim Marshall join Hall of Fame Coach Bud Grant in having their art included a part of this collection.”"

The doors will open at U.S. Bank Stadium for concerts, events, and Minnesota Vikings football later this year. However, those hungry for a glimpse of the new building can get tickets on Ticketmaster for a tour before the players even hit the field.
