Minnesota Vikings vs Rams: Preseason week 4 game review
By Adam Carlson
Overall Impression
This was exactly what the Minnesota Vikings needed. The squad showed that their defense can create turnovers and win the game even without a strong passing game. Not only does it set the tone for the regular season, but it establishes a winning feel for the team.

Offensively, there was a lot of things to be desired. The passing game was bad, accuracy was wildly inconsistent, and far too many drops from Treadwell. But when the ball actually got in to the hands of players, good things happened. Yes, this wasn’t the starting unit out there, but it was scary to think that some of these guys might be the “next man up”.
On defense, the team pressured the quarterback and caused turnovers. Although I hadn’t seen much from Rams quarterback Jared Goff prior to this game, he looked like he needed a lot more time to develop. Otherwise, the tackling and standard defense were things that need improvement, but the starting unit shouldn’t have these issues.
Special teams were solid, with only a couple of mistakes. Of course, the highlight was the big kick return touchdown from Jhurell Pressley. The team will need to keep getting contributions from this unit to help out the offense if they struggle this year.

Congratulations to the Minnesota Vikings on finishing the season 4-0 and continuing the winning tradition under coach Zimmer. Also, it is great to see so many talented young men fighting for the futures and putting on a great performance for the fans at U.S. Bank Stadium.
