The Monday Morning Quarterback star Peter King lofted high praise on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford, calling him the NFL MVP through 4 weeks.

There is absolutely no doubt that Sam Bradford has been great for the Vikings since starting in week 2 against the Green Bay Packers. Despite not being there for training camp or the preseason, Bradford came in and played efficient football.

His numbers aren’t lighting up the stat sheets. Through his first three starts with Minnesota, he’s only averaging 240 passing yards per game, but he’s completing an impressive 69.5% of his passes and thrown 4 touchdowns compared to zero interceptions.

More impressively is that the Minnesota Vikings are one of only 3 teams left in the National Football League with an undefeated record. Sitting at 4-0, the Houston Texans are the only team sitting in the way of the team avoiding losses up to their bye week.

But one man who is very impressed with what Sam Bradford is doing with the Minnesota Vikings is Peter King of The Monday Morning Quarterback. In a recent article, he said that if there were to be an MVP vote today, he would cast his vote for Bradford despite him playing in only 3 of the team’s 4 games.

More from The Viking Age

"“Normally I wouldn’t want to name a player who missed a quarter of his team’s games the MVP. But I will make an exception for Sam Bradford. Bradford sat out the opener (the Vikings got two defensive touchdowns and won by nine at Tennessee) and started the next three Minnesota games.”"

Past that game against the Titans, the Vikings have faced the returning NFC Champion Carolina Panthers, NFC North rival Green Bay Packers, and explosive New York Giants. Each of these are feared opponents, but the Minnesota quarterback has been able to step in and play at a high level.

"“In those three games, learning a new offense on the fly, Bradford has beaten quarterbacks who have played in four of the past nine Super Bowls, and in each game outplayed Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton and Eli Manning. Bradford has no turnovers. He has the best completion and passer rating, both by a mile, in his career.”"

It is way too early to be crowning an MVP for the 2016 season, but what Sam Bradford has been able to do with the Minnesota Vikings on such short notice is nothing short of remarkable. Of course, there are still 12 games to go for the boys in purple, and Bradford will need to prove he can consistently help this team win football games.
