The Minnesota Vikings were unable to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles during week 7 of the NFL season, but here is a rundown of the game in case you missed it

The undefeated Minnesota Vikings traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles for a big week 7 game that put former Philadelphia quarterback Sam Bradford against his former team that let him go in favor of rookie passer Carson Wentz.

In case you were unable to watch or just need a refresher on what happened during the Vikings 10 – 21 loss, here is a rundown of what happened during the game:

The Vikings won the coin toss, but decided to defer and allow the Eagles to start on offense. However, two teams struggled to move the ball, trading ineffective possessions until the Eagles were pinned deep near their own end zone.

Defensive pressure got to Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz, who threw an errant pass caught by Minnesota safety Andrew Sendejo. Sadly, he team couldn’t take advantage of the first and goal situation and Sam Bradford threw his first interception as a Vikings quarterback.

After trading interceptions, the teams traded fumbles. Following a botched handoff for the Eagles and a QB strip on Bradford, Xavier Rhodes got an interception on Wentz, accounting for the fifth early turnover.

The Vikings finally put together a drive to get Blair Walsh a 48 yard field goal, but that joy was quickly erased when Huff of the Eagles returned the kickoff for a touchdown. Harrison Smith made contact with the kicker, so Philadelphia went for 2 and converted on a Wentz run, making the Vikings trail 3-8.

Philadelphia added one more field goal before halftime, and the Vikings trailed 3-11, but took the opening kickoff.

The second half started with more of the same offensive ineffectiveness for the Minnesota Vikings. However, the Eagles moved the ball with ease, focusing on the run and grinding down the Minnesota defense.

A 5 yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Dorial Green-Beckham made the game seem almost out of reach, as a 3-18 disadvantage seemed like a lot for the Vikings to overcome. But Minnesota didn’t fold, and put together a nice drive at the end of the 3rd quarter using a lot of Matt Asiata.

Hopes for that drive went down the toilet, as two run attempts to pick up one yard failed in the red zone, and the Vikings turned the ball over on downs to an Eagles team that has been able to move the ball and eat clock on a regular basis.

Another Eagles field goal put the game out of reach, as the Vikings trailed 3-21 with under 7 minutes to go in the game. Minnesota continued trying to move the ball, but turned the ball over on downs due to drops and good Philly defense.

In the final minute of the game, Sam Bradford connected with Cordarrelle Patterson for a touchdown. Walsh added the extra point, but the game still ended with a final score of 10-21 in favor of the Eagles, giving the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season.
