Laquon Treadwell is ready to take on a bigger role with the Minnesota Vikings, as the rookie wide receiver says that he can help to make plays for the team.
One of the biggest criticisms of the Minnesota Vikings by fans is how the team has been unable to use the talents of their 2016 first round draft pick, wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, to help jumpstart the team’s struggling offense.
Although there are much bigger issues with the team right now, the frustration regarding this topic is understandable. However, thanks to the emergence of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen at the wide receiver position, the Vikings have had the luxury of bringing their potential future star along at an easy pace.
Thankfully, it sounds as though he is coming along nicely. According to ESPN.com, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer is pleased with what he’s been seeing from Treadwell, complimenting him on his progress in several different areas.

"“I think he’s kind of catching up to the NFL a little bit now,” Zimmer said. “His quickness, his stops and starts, his acceleration [are better.]"
While Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings organization are willing to be patient with developing Treadwell, the young wide receiver is itching to get on the field and contribute.
from an article on the Pioneer Press:
"“I can make plays, give them more in the rhythm with the offense. I’ll make plays,’’ Treadwell said."

The Minnesota Vikings have been easing Treadwell into action over the last couple of weeks, but he has yet to make a big impact. But it does sound like when the rookie wide receiver’s number is called, he’ll be ready to make some plays for the team.
