The Minnesota Vikings lost tight end MyCole Pruitt from their practice squad when he was signed to the active roster of the Chicago Bears.

Whenever a player is placed on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, there is always the risk that a team in need will come along and sign the talented young individual to their 53-man active roster.

That exact situation is what happened on Tuesday, December 14, 2016 when it was revealed by 1500 ESPN that the Chicago Bears had made a transaction to take a tight end from the Minnesota practice squad.

The player in question is MyCole Pruitt, who has shown flashes of potential since being a fifth round draft pick in 2016. However, he has struggled with being healthy enough to be a regular contributor for the team.

More from The Viking Age

Pruitt ends his Vikings career with 11 regular season catches for 96 yards, including one 32 yard reception. However, if he can remain healthy, the 24-year-old tight end from Southern Illinois could be a solid pickup for the Bears going forward.

Chicago’s tight end situation is described as “cloudy” by the Chicago Sun Times, who had this to say about Pruitt:

"“He contributed for the Vikings last year, appearing in every game as a rookie and starting three times, after being picked with the first pick of the fifth round.”"

We at The Viking Age would like to thank MyCole Pruitt for his time with the Minnesota Vikings and wish him the nothing but the best of luck on his career going forward as a tight end for the Chicago Bears.
