Former Vikings kicker Morten Andersen to enter Pro Football Hall of Fame
By Adam Carlson
The Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2017 has been announced, and former Minnesota Vikings kicker Morten Andersen is among those to be honored.
It takes a special player to make it to Canton, Ohio. The Minnesota Vikings are a proud franchise, and following the announcement of the 2017 class to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, their representation there will get bigger.
Among those to be honored with enshrinement is prolific kicker Morten Andersen, who played in the NFL for 25 seasons. His career spanned 5 teams, with one of those being the Vikings during 2004.
The announcement was made during the NFL Honors program on FOX, but also shared on the official SportsCenter Twitter account:
Andersen had been nominated for induction three times and been denied three times before finally getting the nod for induction this year. With the 4th time being a charm, he will be honored along with the others during Hall of Fame weekend from August 3rd – 6th, 2017.
