Adrian Peterson heading to New England on Monday with hopes of a deal

The former Minnesota Vikings’ running back has yet to sign with a team since becoming a free-agent this offseason, could he entice the reigning Super Bowl champions?
Time may be running out for ex-Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to sign with a team before the NFL Draft begins at the end of April and his value reaches a near underground level. Peterson has only visited with the Seattle Seahawks since the 2017 NFL free agency period began, but he will reportedly be meeting with another team on Monday to see if he can finally land a contract for next season.
The Patriots are looking for someone to fill the void left by free-agent LaGarrette Blount this offseason and Peterson could be their guy. With Rex Burkhead, Dion Lewis, and James White being the only running backs currently on New England’s roster, they could still be looking for someone more capable of pushing their way through the pile on the goal line.
For Peterson to land a contract with the Patriots, he may need to lower his asking price. Previous reports have stated that the former Vikings running back has still been looking for $8 million in 2017 despite his age (32-years-old) and his lack of productivity last year.

If he and New England are unable to workout a deal during his visit, Peterson signing with another team may not even happen until at least May or June.
