Top 100 of 2017 includes Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen
By Adam Carlson
Defensive end Everson Griffen of the Minnesota Vikings was included in NFL.com’s Top 100 list for the first time after an excellent 2016 NFL season.
The Minnesota Vikings have been a team in transition for many seasons. Whether it was new coaches, quarterbacks, or star players, the team has always been doing what they can do keep the team competitive,
One challenge that seemed impossible was finding a way to move forward without Jared Allen. Thankfully, the team has drafted and developed Everson Griffen into that role, and the transition has been fairly seamless.
Griffen is a tireless defender with a huge motor and absurd quickness. And, for the first time ever, he has been included on the list of the Top 100 Players list by NFL.com.

Landing at #92, the defensive end appears to have earned the respect of his peers. He has been in the Pro Bowl twice, but never made the Top 100 list before this year.
Here is what NFL.com had for a ‘mind blowing’ statistic about Everson Griffen on their website:
"“Griffen has 30.5 sacks since 2014 (5th most in the NFL, only J.J. Watt, Von Miller, Ryan Kerrigan and Justin Houston have more). He’s 9th on the Vikings all-time sack list with 48.0.”"
Expect those numbers to keep climbing. With help from fellow pass rushers Brian Robison, Danielle Hunter, Linval Joseph, and others, teams playing against the Vikings will need to keep an eye on the blind side, which is where Griffin will be attacking from.

Congratulations to Everson Griffen on earning a place on this list with his hard work and dedication in the Minnesota Vikings defense. Hopefully, next year he can move up the rankings and add to those sack totals.
