Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks donates to The Sheridan Story
By Adam Carlson
Charity is important to Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks, who recently made a significant donation to The Sheridan Story.
During the offseason of the NFL, the players around the league have a lot of time to explore other interests or let loose. For Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks, his idea of fun is putting a smile on people’s faces.
According to the KTSP 5 ABC website, Kendricks visited Westview Elementary School in Apple Valley, Minnesota to give back to the community with a $20,000 donation to a charity called The Sheridan Story.
Here is a video from the KTSP website showing Kendricks interacting with the kids at Westview Elementary and giving the donation to The Sheridan Story, a great organization working to fight child hunger:
Eric was joined by his brother Mychal, who is a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles. The two presented the funds that were raised through the “Sacks for Kids” program throughout the 2016 NFL season.

Kendricks spoke about why the program is both important to him and a great way to combine his career with giving back:
"“I love the cause,” Kendricks told KSTP on Friday. “It was an easy fit. I found an opportunity where I could help with what I do on the football field and have an impact in these kids’ lives.”"
Following the presentation of the check, Mychal and Eric Kendricks stuck around to distribute food backpacks to the kids of the school.
But this kind of charity is nothing new for Eric, but he’s really been working hard to help the community since joining the NFL, impressing even his brother:
"“I’ve seen him involved since I was young,” Mychal said. “As we’ve been separated from college, I’ve seen him mature as a man.”"

A huge thanks goes out to Eric Kendricks for making a great donation to a fantastic cause, as well as for being a positive representative for the Minnesota Vikings on and off the field. Hopefully, the “Sacks for Kids” program returns during the 2017 NFL season.
