Three more members of the Minnesota Vikings’ most recent draft class are now officially under contract with the team for the 2017 season.
It took awhile, but once the Minnesota Vikings got the ball rolling on Thursday with a pair of players from the team’s 2017 draft class signing their rookie deals, almost half of their 11 draftees from this year are now under contract after three more signed on Friday.
Linebacker Ben Gedeon, defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson, and offensive lineman Danny Isidora have all agreed to the terms in their rookie deals and are now under contract for the Vikings’ upcoming season.
Gideon was selected by Minnesota with the 120th overall selection in the fourth round of the draft this year out of the University of Michigan. At Michigan in 2016, he was a tackling machine (94 total tackles) and should at least be an immediate contributor to the Vikings’ special teams unit this season.
11 picks before Minnesota chose Gedeon, the Vikings added Johnson from the University of Iowa with the 109th overall selection in the fourth round. The young defensive tackle immediately adds some much needed depth to the team’s defensive front and could possibly even see some significant snaps on Minnesota’s defense this year.
With their second selection in the fifth round of the 2017 draft, the Vikings landed on Isidora. He spent his playing time in college on the offensive line at the University of Miami and could eventually blossom into a starter on Minnesota’s unit within the next few years if everything goes according to plan.

With five of their 11 draft picks from this year now under contract, only Dalvin Cook, Pat Elflein, Bucky Hodges, Stacey Coley, Elijah Lee, and Jack Tocho remain among those yet to sign their rookie deals with the Vikings.
