Warrior Rising gets an assist from Minnesota Vikings to benefit veterans
By Adam Carlson
Several members of the Minnesota Vikings teamed up with non-profit Warrior Rising to help benefit veterans looking to start or sustain businesses.
The Minnesota Vikings are always doing great things for the community. In addition to the playground build this week, several players and team personnel met for another cause close to their hearts.
This time, the Vikings worked with non-profit organization Warrior Rising, which was established to help veterans create new businesses or maintain a business in today’s struggling economy through partnerships, mentoring and funding.
KEYC News 12 CBS and FOX shared a video featuring some of the fun the team had with equipment provided by Warrior Rising.
It looks like the Vikings are getting quite a bit of enjoyment out of the equipment in the video. Here are some of the highlights from the video:

The Vikings are becoming known for their great charity work in many circles, but Warrior Rising enjoys the extra passion that comes from Minnesota’s NFL team:
"“We work with a lot of NFL teams, and there’s no NFL team more supportive of the military than the Minnesota Vikings,” said Jason Van Camp, Warrior Rising Executive Director."
The cause is one that Vikings offensive lineman Alex Boone feels exceptionally passionate about, as he explained to KEYC:
"“For me personally to be a part of anything with the military or veterans, it’s a huge honor for me. To help these guys with their startup businesses, it’s awesome. I’m a big fan of buying all my stuff from veteran owned companies. I’m so happy to be here, it’s unbelievable,” said Boone."

An auction was held to raise money for Warrior Rising including many Minnesota Vikings related items. Hopefully, the team continues to work with this great cause for many years to come.
