Fans of Monday Night Football will be excited to find out that a historic part of the popular football show will return for Minnesota Vikings vs. Saints.
There was a time when Monday Night Football was a time for you and all your rowdy friends to gather around the television to enjoy a great sporting event. That time will return on September 11, 2017 when the Minnesota Vikings host the New Orleans Saints.
According to USA Today, the iconic theme song for MNF played by Hank Williams Jr. will return for the 2017 season starting with the game at U.S. Bank Stadium after not using ‘All My Rowdy Friends’.
Of course, many fans will remember that Williams was removed from MNF for making political comments about Barack Obama, but apparently things have been forgiven between ESPN and the musician.

"“I think it’s a return to our past in that it’s such an iconic song associated with football,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of events and studio production told The USA TODAY NETWORK-Tennessee. “It was the original. It belongs to Monday Night Football. It really is about returning to what fans know. It’s a Monday night party and that’s what we’re all hoping to get back to.”"
Meanwhile, Hank Williams Jr. himself is ready for a return to Monday nights after his long hiatus from the show.
"“I never said, ‘Are you ready for some football’ on stage one time the last five or six years, but I will now,” said Williams."
