The Minnesota Vikings have named Mark Uyeyama as the team’s new head strength and conditioning coach for the 2017 NFL season.
Finding a quality staff that sticks around for the long haul can be a major challenge in today’s NFL. Recently, the Minnesota Vikings experienced that turnaround when trying to fill the role of their head strength and conditioning coach.
However, the team may have finally found their person for the position in Mark Uyeyama, who was hired on June 23, 2017 after working his way up through the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff.
Here is the background that was given by the official Minnesota Vikings website in the announcement of the hire:

He was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the franchise from 2011-14 and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach from 2008-10. Uyeyama was named Samson Equipment’s NFL Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year by American Football Monthly in 2011.”"
Before his time with the 49ers, Uyeyama was the head strength and conditioning coach for Utah State University following his graduation from the University of Utah.
