The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is still recovering from the knee injury he sustained before the start of the 2016 regular season.

Sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry. It seems like the Minnesota Vikings are taking the safe route when it comes to quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

But can anyone blame them? The quarterback nearly lost his leg after a freak injury on a normal drop back in practice last August and the team does not want to risk him ruining his career by rushing back to the field too quickly.

So after the rest of the Vikings’ roster arrived to training camp in Mankato, Minnesota on Wednesday, the team announced that Bridgewater will not be taking part in a camp practice anytime soon.

With the designation, the quarterback is allowed to continue his rehab process while the rest of his teammates take part in practice. Bridgewater joins running back Latavius Murray and rookie linebacker Shaan Washington on the Vikings’ Active/PUP list.

Will the quarterback ever practice before the regular season begins? That decision is up to Minnesota and Bridgewater’s doctors to determine when they feel comfortable with him returning to action.

The team also announced that the quarterback will address the media at 11:30 a.m. after Thursday’s morning walk thru. This will be the first time Bridgewater has taken the podium since he injured his knee.
