After getting involved in a fight with a teammate at camp on Monday, the Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
At just 22-years-old, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Laquon Treadwell already has a lot to prove. Following a rookie season with the Vikings in 2016 that saw him catch only one pass, the young receiver needs to prove this year that he is worth the first-round draft selection Minnesota used to acquire him.
This year at the Vikings’ training camp, Treadwell has reportedly been performing pretty well. Minnesota has even been using him as their third receiver on the first-team offense during most of their camp practices so far.
On Monday, Treadwell and Vikings defensive back Antone Exum got into a bit of a skirmish during practice and it resulted in the receiver not participating in the rest of the day’s session. Well after a day off on Tuesday, Treadwell sat out Wednesday’s training camp practice with what sounds like an undisclosed injury.
Laquon Treadwell asked if hurt in Antone Exum fight. "I got to go to treatment.'' Asked again, "Ask the coaches I have to go to treatment"

Mike Zimmer asked if Treadwell injury came in fight. "I don't know.'' Asked about his injury, "I don't know how long he's going to be out."

Whether he is injured or not, this latest incident just adds fuel for those who are skeptical of Treadwell ever becoming a viable NFL receiver one day. Minnesota is clearly giving him an opportunity to be more involved in the offense in camp so far and the receiver is returning the favor by going out and injuring himself in a fight with a teammate.
Part of his struggles from last season were blamed on him not being healthy enough. Treadwell has to stay off of the injury report this year if he wants to avoid his snaps being taken away when fellow Vikings’ receiver Michael Floyd comes back from suspension in Week 5.

He seemed to be on the right track to avoid that from happening. But after Monday’s fight and missing Wednesday’s practice, Treadwell may still not be ready for a larger spotlight in 2017.
