The Minnesota Vikings have added a running back to their roster after losing Bishop Sankey for the season, as the team has signed Bronson Hill .

Some bad news came out of the first preseason game for the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, August 10, 2017 when a couple of injuries took players out of the week 1 preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

Among those who went down with injuries in the game was running back Bishop Sankey. Injuring his knee and not returning to the game, it was later announced that the rusher had torn his ACL and was waived with an injury designation. If he clears waivers, he will be placed on season ending injured reserve.

In order to fill out the roster, Minnesota added a new running back to the team. Here is the breaking news of the signing from NFL Network and NFL.com analyst Ian Rapoport on Twitter:

Bronson Hill has made the rounds of the NFL, getting looks from several franchises, In just two seasons in the league, he has spent time during the preseason or on the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals, and Jacksonville Jaguars before landing in Minnesota.

More from The Viking Age

Hill was an undrafted free agent in 2015 out of Eastern Michigan. In 4 years there, he totaled 2,362 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns while adding 526 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns through the air.

During the 2016 season, Hill did find some regular season action with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Playing in 3 games, the Grand Rapids, Michigan native carried the ball twice for 11 yards.

Bronson Hill will take the place of the injured Bishop Sankey on the roster, who will be placed on season ending injured reserve if he clears waivers following news of his torn ACL.
