Two Minnesota Vikings named to PFF preseason week 1 Team of the Week
By Adam Carlson
When Pro Football Focus put together a roster of the best players from week 1 of the NFL preseason, two players from the Minnesota Vikings were included.
It may be the preseason, but that doesn’t mean that analysis and evaluations won’t be running wild for players from the Minnesota Vikings or one of the other NFL franchises. Of course, one of the best sites for player grades and examination is popular website Pro Football Focus.
Each week of the NFL season, PFF grades players based on their performances and week 1 of the preseason was no exception. In fact, the site made up a team of the best players from the first preseason games of the year and shared it for fans to check out.
Included on the Preseason Week 1 Team of the Week for Pro Football Focus were two members of the Vikings, and neither of them were appearing in their first game action during their rookie season.

The first player for Minnesota on the roster is defensive end Tashawn Bower. Here is what they had to say about Bower, who earned an impressive 90.0 PFF grade:
"“Bower finished his day with a sack, a hit, three hurries and a batted pass in a productive pass-rushing effort at Buffalo in which he played 47-of-74 possible snaps. Bower also had two run stops on 10 run snaps for a 20.0 run stop percentage.”"
The other member of the Vikings on the roster is linebacker Eric Wilson. PFF also had very positive things to say about Wilson’s performance:
"“Wilson earned the highest overall game grade of all linebackers this week with an 87.2. He allowed just one reception for seven yards on three passes thrown into his coverage. Wilson was used to rush the passer just five times on his 36 snaps, but successfully generated pressure on three of those snaps, two of which being quarterback hits, for a massive pass-rush productivity mark of 45.0.”"

While it is only week 1 of the preseason, it is great to see these young players from the Minnesota Vikings putting on a great performance and giving the franchise more hope for the future, and it is always nice for them to get noticed by a popular evaluation site like Pro Football Focus.
