Overall Impression
Seattle is no slouch. They are a team built to frustrate defenses with a mobile quarterback and strong running game. Add in fast receivers, and there is potential for big plays at just about any time.

Still, it’s hard not to be a little disappointed. The first team offense still hasn’t put a touchdown on the board and the first team defense gave up a touchdown on the opening drive. Those two things alone are never good.
The redeeming factor of the entire game was seeing all the depth and athleticism the team has. Big plays by Tashawn Bower, Jaleel Johnson, Bucky Hodges, and others give hope that there is a silver lining to this contest.
Still, there were more people losing their jobs than winning them in this game. The kick return competition is pretty much over, and Taylor Heinicke keeps making too many mistakes to be counted on for the backup job.
As a whole, this will be a learning experience for the team. The veterans know they needed a better performance against a strong team and the coaching staff will be sure to let the younger guys know this wasn’t acceptable, despite some flashes on the field.

The Minnesota Vikings will finally host a preseason game during week 3. The review of ups and downs from that game will either be late or done by someone else, as I will be at that game rooting on the Vikings from the crowd. SKOL!
