Recently released by the Vikings, Alex Boone already has a new team

After being shown the door by the Minnesota Vikings last week, the offensive lineman has agreed on a deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
A year after he was their top free-agent acquisition, the Minnesota Vikings decided last Saturday that it would be best to move on from Alex Boone. The offensive lineman was outplayed by his Vikings line-mates this offseason and the team obviously felt no need to keep him around for 2017.
But it did not take long for Boone to find a new home in the NFL. On Tuesday, it was announced by the Arizona Cardinals that the team had signed the offensive lineman to a one-year contract.

After spending seven years with the San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota signed Boone to a four-year, $26.8 million contact in 2016. Not wanting to pay him a ton of money to sit on the bench this season, the Vikings reportedly approached the offensive lineman about taking a pay cut, to which Boone declined.

Since Minnesota could not get him to agree to play for a lesser amount this year, they decided to eat $3.5 million in dead cap money and release him from the roster.
During his short time with the Vikings, Boone became more known for the noise he made off of the field than his actual play on the field.
Following Minnesota’s Week 2 game at home against the Green Bay Packers last season, Boone complained about the Vikings fans actually being too loud and wished they would “shut the f— up a little bit,” while the team was on offense.
Other moments of “This Week in What Alex Boone Said” included comments about Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest, Adrian Peterson’s father, and Packers president Mark Murphy.
However, his mouth was not the real problem for Minnesota. It just became evident this offseason that Boone no longer fit into the plans the team has for their offensive line moving forward, so a move needed to be made.
