The offensive line of the Minnesota Vikings has received criticism since last preseason, but new tackle Mike Remmers isn’t worried about those critics.

Last season, the Minnesota Vikings had massive struggles on their offensive line. Decimated by injuries and diving into free agency to find starters, the franchise was putting band aids on a wound that would need a lot of attention this offseason.

Minnesota did just that. They went into free agency and signed to starting caliber offensive tackles, Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers, to anchor the protection for Sam Bradford and create holes for the team’s new running backs.

Still, there are plenty of critics who don’t believe the line for Minnesota will be able to perform their duties at a high level. Recently, the Pioneer Press spoke with new starting right tackle Mike Remmers about the naysayers.

"“I’m not worried about any of that stuff. I’m just worried about doing my job.”"

That kind of attitude is exactly what the Vikings need. In the past, there have been occasions where the criticism of the offensive line play has gotten in the head of players.

When asked about his concerns for the offensive line, Remmers didn’t focus on specifics. Instead, he restated that the unit was working hard to be the best unit they can be.

"“We’re just doing what we can, everything we can.”"

Remmers will be the team’s starting right tackle and will play next to veteran interior lineman Joe Berger this season.
