Week 2 injury report: Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers
By Adam Carlson
Sam Bradford and two first round picks are on the injury report for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 as they prepare to take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The Minnesota Vikings looked good in Week 1 of the NFL season. Not only did their defense shut down the high-powered offense of the Saints, but they also found their rhythm on offense and got huge games from two wide receivers.
However, the team will face a huge challenge in Week 2 when they hit the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. A strong defense and a dynamic offense with the best wide receiver/running back combo in the NFL will be a huge test for the Vikings.
But not everyone will be able to play in the game. Injuries happen, and that means some teams will have players who must sit the game out and watch from the sidelines. Here is the Week 2 injury report as shared on the official Vikings website:
Minnesota Vikings
Out
- – none –
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- Anthony Barr, LB – hamstring
- Sam Bradford, QB – knee
- Xavier Rhodes, CB – hip
So far, everything having to do with Barr, Bradford, and Rhodes being limited in practice appears to be precautionary. However, with Bradford’s history of knee issues, the team will want to keep a close eye on the situation going forward. Meanwhile, all signs point to the two defenders suiting up on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Out
- Jerald Hawkins, OT – knee
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- Vance McDonald, TE – back
- Stephon Tuitt, DE – biceps
- J.J. Wilcox, S – concussion
Hawkins is the backup to starting left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, so there shouldn’t be any problems there for the Steelers. However, it is worth keeping an eye on McDonald’s availability for this game despite being listed as questionable since he sat out practice on Friday with his back issue. But Jesse James still figures to get the bulk of tight end play in Week 2.
