The Minnesota Vikings have officially placed rookie Dalvin Cook on injured reserve and signed running back Stevan Ridley to the active roster.
In week 4 against the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Dalvin Cook suffered a devastating knee injury that was later revealed to be a torn ACL, ending his promising first season with the team.
With the need for surgery and a long recovery time, the team announced on their official Twitter account that the man who was second in the league in rushing yards would be placed on injured reserve.
Here is that tweet as shared on the official Minnesota Vikings Twitter account on October 5, 2017:
We have signed RB @StevanRidley and placed @dalvincook on IR.

Ridley is best known for this time with the New England Patriots, particularly during the 2012 season when he rushed for 1,263 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. However, he has been unable to replicate those numbers in more recent seasons.
After staying with the Patriots from 2011 through the 2014 season, he played with the New York Jets in 2015 and the Atlanta Falcons in 2016. In 2017, he was a member of the Denver Broncos until his release on September 2, 2017.
Joining a backfield already composed of Latavius Murray, Jerick McKinnon, and C.J. Ham, the Vikings seem to want to make sure they have plenty of depth for the remainder of the 2017 NFL season.

Hopefully, Dalvin Cook can make a speedy and full recovery to return to the Minnesota Vikings for the 2018 season. Meanwhile, The Viking Age would like to congratulate Stevan Ridley on signing with the team and wish him nothing but the best going forward with the franchise.
