In Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings held a ceremony where they inducted wide receiver Randy Moss into the team’s Ring of Honor, becoming the 22nd player to receive the honor.

Only 3 weeks later, another Vikings pass catcher became the 23rd Ring of Honor entrant, as wide receiver Ahmad Rashad got his ring during halftime of the team’s Week 4 game against the Detroit Lions.

Here is the video of Ahmad Rashad entering the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor as shared on the official team YouTube channel:

The ceremony was a wonderful one, with Rashad getting a huge ovation during the ceremony and many legendary members of the franchise on hand to pay tribute.

More from The Viking Age

Despite all the love for Rashad on this day, it was Ahmad Rashad who spoke before the massive crowd about how much the Vikings franchise and the state of Minnesota have become a part of who he is as a human being.

"“When I first came to Minnesota, I had a love affair with the city, this team, the fan and just was sort of my coming out party in life,” Rashad added. “Everywhere I went since then, I felt I represented Minnesota, and I still feel I represent Minnesota.”"

Several former teammates and Pro Football Hall of Fame members of the Vikings were on hand to witness the event, including Greg Coleman, Mark Mullaney, Sammy White, Jeff Siemon, Bobby Bryant, Tommy Kramer, Chuck Foreman, Paul Krause and Carl Eller.
