Vikings WR Adam Thielen had a wide open touchdown catch in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns and chose to celebrate soccer style in front of the UK crowd.
The Minnesota Vikings got off to a rough start in Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season, starting with a Case Keenum interception and allowing a rushing touchdown to the Cleveland Browns early in the contest.
Minnesota didn’t answer back immediately. While the team was able to convert a muffed punt into a field goal, the first touchdown for the Vikings didn’t come until the second quarter of the game.
Check out the video of the play as shared on the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Vikings:
Quarterback Case Keenum takes the snap from center Pat Elflein and turns his back to the defense. After a quick fake handoff to the running back, he looks down the field.

Keenum first surveys the field to his left side, bouncing in the pocket. Unhappy with what he sees there, the passer scrambles to his right and goes through the rest of his available reads. Finally, he spots something he likes.
Throwing on the run, a pass sails toward the end zone. When the camera pans to the receiver, it is Adam Thielen standing alone in the corner. With an easy catch, he puts the first touchdown of the game on the board for Minnesota.
But Thielen wasn’t done there. In the tradition of many soccer players in the United Kingdom, he did the knee slide celebration behind the end zone much like at the Arsenal game he attended the night before.

This score gave the Minnesota Vikings a 9-6 lead after the Kai Forbath extra point was missed, but with so much game to play against the Cleveland Browns, the team would need to get more great play from Thielen and the offense to get a win.
