Vikings DE Everson Griffen named NFC Defensive Player of the Month

Everson Griffen of the Minnesota Vikings has been named the Defensive Player of the Month for October after a strong performance in Weeks 4-8 of the season.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the Minnesota Vikings in October has seen just how dominating their defense can be. With a strong front and a talented secondary, NFL teams fear facing off against the boys in purple.

One key component of Minnesota’s success is defensive end Everson Griffen. His high motor, great speed, and excellent technique have made him one of the premier players at his position in the league.

His excellent play in from Week 4 through Week 8 of the 2017 season landed him an individual honor, as the official Vikings Twitter account announced that he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.

Within the 5 games played by the Minnesota Vikings in October, Everson Griffen racked up some excellent stats and helped his team win 4 of those contests. Here are his statistics over that time period:
