The experts have spoken and their opinion of where the Minnesota Vikings belong in the NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 10 is all over the place!
The Minnesota Vikings had a week off during Week 9 to recover from the first half of the season and a grueling trip to the United Kingdom. They went into the week off with a 6-2 record and hope to continue winning after the break.
However, not everyone is liking what lies ahead for the Vikings. Many experts believe the second half of Minnesota’s schedule will be a huge test and they aren’t sure the team is as strong as their current record leads people to believe.
Here is a rundown of some of the major publications and how they have the Minnesota Vikings ranked in their weekly Power Rankings as well as a small blurb about why they are rated there and their change from last week.
Ranked #4
- ESPN.com: “Keenum deserves credit, but so does the defense, which has allowed the third-fewest points per game this season.” (Up 1 spot)
Ranked #5
- Chat Sports – Mitchell Renz: “How many teams lose so many key players for parts of the season and still have a 6-2 record?” (No change)
- Sporting News – Vinnie Iyer: “They saw their cushion in the NFC North grow to a full two games, but they also know they already lost once to Detroit.” (Up 2 spots)
Ranked #6
- Bleacher Report – Chris Simms: “If the Lions don’t get back on track, the Vikings may run away with the division.” (No change)
- CBS Sports – Pete Prisco: “They come off their bye in control of the division, despite all the injuries.” (Up 2 spots)
- NJ.com – Joe Giglio: “Quarterback, quarterback, quarterback. If the Vikings find the right man (Teddy Bridgewater?), this team is dangerous.” (No change)
- NFL.com – Elliot Harrison: “Love that the Vikings are flying well under the radar. Let them sneak up on everybody.” (Up 1 spot)
Ranked #7
- Washington Post – Mark Maske: “The Vikings play five of their remaining eight games on the road.” (Down 1 spot)
Ranked #8
- Chicago Tribune – Brad Biggs: “They reportedly will activate QB Teddy Bridgewater this week, and that will soon create debate about a change from Case Keenum.” (Up 1 spot)
