A fine was handed down by the NFL on Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs for his touchdown celebration in Week 10 against the Washington Redskins.
The Minnesota Vikings opened up their offense and delivered an aerial assault on the Washington Redskins in Week 10 of NFL season, and one recipient of a touchdown pass during that game was Stefon Diggs.
However, it was the celebrations that drew a lot of attention. A leapfrog celebration was the highlight of the group, but Stefon Diggs emulated something Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown had done, and it resulted in a fine.
Near the start of the second quarter, Minnesota was in the red zone. Taking a snap from the center at the 4-yard line, quarterback Case Keenum dropped back and hit Diggs in the end zone to give the Vikings a 14-10 lead after the extra point.

After the touchdown, Diggs held his arms out and ran to the goal post, leaping on it and giving it a big hug. The NFL rulebook is clear that the goalpost cannot be used as a prop during celebrations and will always result in a fine.
The CBS Sports website reported that the fine will cost Diggs $12,154.
Stefon Diggs wasn’t the only one fined by the NFL during the Week 10 game. CBS Sports also reports that Linval Joseph racked up a bill of $18,231 stemming from a roughing the passer penalty from a hit on Kirk Cousins.
Those were the only two fines that were reported to be handed down from the contest, but total over $30,000 between Diggs and Linval.
