Adam Thielen 65 yard touchdown catch: Vikings vs Rams in Week 11

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen scored a big 65-yard touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11 of the 2017 NFL season.

Coming into Week 11 of the 2017 NFL season, Minnesota Vikings fans knew that the team would have their hands full when the Los Angeles Rams came to U.S. Bank Stadium in a battle of 7-2 franchises.

In the 4th quarter of the contest, things still looked as though they could go either way. Both defenses were playing stout football and huge plays were going to the difference maker in deciding who would emerge victoriously.

The big play finally happened for Minnesota in the 4th quarter, when the offense was finally able to get something huge to happen by going to a familiar face. Here is that play as shared on the official Vikings Twitter account:

Starting from their own 35-yard line, quarterback Case Keenum took the snap from shotgun and quickly identified the matchup he wanted.

Throwing the ball to wide receiver Adam Thielen on a curl route, the defense started to close in on the ball carrier. A quick move by Thielen moved him past the defensive back and into the great wide open.

Turning on the speed, Thielen darted through the Rams defense. Although they were able to get a bead on the receiver, they were not able to catch up to him as he angled his run toward the right corner of the end zone.

After scoring, he spun the football on the ground. Teammates joined him in the end zone, but they didn’t celebrate together, even though it appeared as though Thielen was trying to orchestrate something.

This score moved the score to 21-7 in favor of the Vikings and placed the momentum firmly in the corner of Minnesota.

Adam Thielen is known for making amazing plays for the Minnesota Vikings, but this one against the Los Angeles Rams was definitely a big-time effort and a turning point in the big Week 11 contest.
