Let’s be honest, there are players we have come to expect to appear on this list every week. Harrison Smith is a mainstay on this list and Everson Griffen has been a regular as well, but that doesn’t mean they still don’t deserve credit for amazing performances.
Latavius Murray’s been coming into his own lately, earning a bigger role as the season goes on with his bruising style with a surprising amount of agility and balance as well. PFF praised his ability to get yards after the first contact and make players miss.
"“The veteran running back picked up 52 of his 76 yards after contact and forced three missed tackles on the ground.”"
While fans don’t need to hear more about just how great Harrison Smith really is, PFF laid out just how important he was in the game’s outcome in nearly every phase of the defense.
"“Smith disrupted a number of plays when he was down in the box that won’t show up in the stat sheets, but totaled four tackles and two solo stops for short gains. Smith was not targeted at all in the passing game, forcing Matt Ryan off of his initial read on a few occasions.”"
