Which players will miss Week 17 between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears and which injured players may suit up? Here is the injury report!
The Minnesota Vikings are in no position to rest starters or even be too conservative with players who could be big contributors in Week 17 since the #2 seed in the NFC playoffs and a first-round bye are up for grabs.
However, to get that bye, Minnesota will need to defeat the Chicago Bears. The Vikings have already beat the Bears once this year, but the team will need to do it again to have the week off in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Minnesota has four players who have already been confirmed as not suiting up in Week 17 and the Bears have some players in danger of not playing. Here is the injury report from the official Vikings website:
Minnesota Vikings
Out
- Tramaine Brock Sr., CB – foot
- Pat Elflein, C – shoulder
- Kevin McDermott, LS – shoulder
- Shamar Stephen, DT – ankle
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- – none –
The two big losses here are center Pat Elflein and Kevin McDermott. Minnesota signed a long snapper so that tight end David Morgan wouldn’t have to continue to do double duty until McDermott could return, but there is a lot to be said for consistency and familiarity, especially in the kicking game.
Meanwhile, Minnesota does have a lot of depth on the interior of the line and Elflein’s injury will cause a shuffling of bodies that will likely lead to Jeremiah Sirles getting the start. However, Elflein’s physical play will be missed against the Bears.

Chicago Bears
Out
- – none –
Doubtful
- Bobby Massie, OT – knee
- Josh Sitton, G – ankle
Questionable
- DeAndre Houston-Carson, S – back
- Adam Shaheen, TE – chest
The Bears could be close to full strength if their two offensive linemen on the injury report can suit up. However, since they are listed as doubtful, if either one cannot play Minnesota should have an easier time getting to Chicago’s rookie quarterback.
