With their miraculous win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings punched their ticket to next week’s NFC Championship game.

Wow, what a finish! When everything seemed to be going against them, the Minnesota Vikings somehow found a way to pull out a win over the New Orleans Saints in Sunday’s divisional round playoff matchup.

Thanks to a last-second touchdown toss by quarterback Case Keenum to wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Vikings got a 29-24 victory over the Saints and will move on to the NFC Championship game next week against the Philadelphia Eagles. For Minnesota, it will be the franchise’s first appearance in the conference championship since the 2009 season.

After the adrenaline finally calms down to a healthy level, Minnesota will have to prepare for a tough matchup next Sunday against the NFC’s top-seeded team. The Eagles held on for a 15-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday and will be playing in their first NFC Championship game since 2008.

More from The Viking Age

Next weekend’s matchup will feature two former Los Angeles Rams starting quarterbacks in Philadelphia’s Nick Foles and Minnesota’s Case Keenum. Expect to hear something from former Rams head coach Jeff Fisher this week about how he is the reason his two former players will be fighting for a spot in the Super Bowl.

The matchup will take place next Sunday at 6:40pm ET at the Eagles’ home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field. Philadelphia is 8-1 in games at home this year while the Vikings won six of their eight matchups on the road during the regular season.

It did not take very long, but oddsmakers in Las Vegas already have Minnesota favored by three over the Eagles next week.
