The Minnesota Vikings have made a transaction to bring tight end Nick Truesdell back to the practice squad and releasing offensive tackle Storm Norton.

The shuffle on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad continued during the week leading up to the Conference Championship round of the NFL playoffs, with the team releasing one player while signing another.

As announced on the official Vikings website, Minnesota has made the decision to release offensive lineman Storm Norton from the practice squad and add tight end Nick Truesdell to the group.

If Truesdell’s name is familiar, that is because it’s not his first stint with the Vikings. The tight end spent last offseason and a majority of the preseason with the club and seems excited about the opportunity to return to the team according to his Instagram post:

More from The Viking Age

Truesdell has been working outside of the NFL, accumulating knowledge and skill while getting experience in the following places according to the team’s website:

  • Colorado Ice (IFL)
  • Bemidji Axemen (IFL)
  • Spokane Shock (AFL)
  • Portland Thunder (AFL)
  • Arizona Rattlers (IFL)
  • Cleveland Gladiators (AFL)

Meanwhile, the Vikings released offensive tackle Storm Norton.

Norton was signed when there were injuries at the position earlier this season as an emergency blanket, but considering Riley Reiff, Mike Remmers, Rashod Hill, and Aviante Collins are all healthy on the main roster and they still have Dieugot Joseph and Cedrick Lang on the practice squad, he will have the chance to explore other opportunities.

Congratulations to Nick Truesdell on joining the Minnesota Vikings practice squad and getting another chance to impress the coaching staff. Meanwhile, we at The Viking Age would like to wish Storm Norton nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
