The Minnesota Vikings defeat in the NFC Championship Game was tough for fans to take, but Xavier Rhodes, the players, and team want to move forward.

Hopes of the Minnesota Vikings being the first team in NFL history to participate in the Super Bowl were crushed when the Philadelphia Eagles beat them in the NFC Conference Championship Game.

The NFL mentality is to try to forget the bad games and move forward as quickly as possible. For the Vikings, that means getting to work on preparations for the 2018 NFL season in hopes of actually reaching the big game.

Meanwhile, members of Minnesota’s team, including Xavier Rhodes, want to be in the present and move forward, which is standard for many players and coaches to want to do.

"“That’s why you keep doing things like this, try to enjoy the moment, live in the moment and actually try to get that game off your mind,” Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes said to FOX Sports."

Even if the players and coaches are already focused on the 2018 season, the fans and a lot of the media are making it to where they aren’t able to completely move forward.

"“I can’t tell you how long it’s going to take, but it’ll take very long if people keep asking me questions about the game. But eventually it’ll pass.”"

The good news is that the Vikings still have a very young team with a lot of great pieces in the place for the future. While there are still some situations that need to be resolved for the franchise, Rhodes is still optimistic about the team’s chances next season.

"“We’ve got to look forward to next year and hopefully we’ll go to the Super Bowl.”"

Next: Who will be the Vikings QB in 2018?

The 2017 NFL season gave fans of the Minnesota Vikings a lot of reasons to be excited but also ended before reaching the Super Bowl. Hopefully, the 2018 season will have a different ending and the team will have a more positive note to end the season on.
