It is highly recommended that Vikings and NFL fans check out the Super Bowl Experience at the Minneapolis Convention Center leading up to Super Bowl 52.

When the NFL announced that U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis would be the site of Super Bowl LII, fans of the Vikings, lovers of the NFL, and people living in the area knew that things would get crazy in the days leading up to the big game.

One of the events going on at the Minneapolis Convention Center is the Super Bowl Experience. It is a massive collection of games, events, exhibits, and NFL players in one location with an emphasis on family friendliness from January 27th to February 3rd.

On Sunday, January 28, 2018, I attended the Super Bowl Experience with low expectations. After taking the bus to the convention center for 10 am, I entered and immediately signed up to meet Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks at the Hyundai exhibit.

Kendricks wasn’t the only player I met at this event. There was also Steve Hutchinson, C.J. Ham, Jerick McKinnon, Eddie Royal, Toby Gerhart, Kevin Williams, Kai Forbath, Rich Gannon, Anthony Barr, Andrew Sendejo, and more between the Panini Autograph Stage, Hyundai, and Genesis! However, the guests will likely be less Vikings-centric as it gets closer to the Super Bowl itself.

Getting autographs, meeting players, and getting photos ops for free is a lot of fun, but the real enjoyment comes from all the activities and exhibits.

More from The Viking Age

Not only is there a field where kids can do Play 60 events with NFL players, but there are areas where people can test their ability to throw passes or kick field goals and be active at the convention center.

For those who don’t want to be as active, there are exhibits showing off the Super Bowl rings from the past, the Lombardi Trophy, how an NFL football is made and much more! These are interesting and informative, making for great photo opportunities.

If someone wanted to experience everything and meet as many players as possible, they would need to go for multiple days. But at only $35 for a standard entry ticket and $55 for the specialized XTRA wristband, it is well worth checking out for at least one day while it is in town.
