The 2018 NFL Draft is still quite a distance away, but the experts have already been weighing in on who the Minnesota Vikings should select at #30 overall.

The offseason of the NFL is a hard time for fans. With no action on the field and big events like the start of free agency and the combine still too far away, teams like the Minnesota Vikings are left analyzing and making moves to prepare for the future.

Of course, one of the best ways to improve a football team is the NFL Draft. This year, the event will be held from April 26-28th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and the Vikings will hold the #30 pick in the first round.

Let’s take a look at who the experts have Minnesota selecting as we round up the most up-to-date mock drafts to show who might be best for the Vikings.

Mike Hughes, CB, UCF

Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan

Derwin James, S, FSU

Arden Key, DE, LSU

Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA

Da’Ron Payne, DT, Alabama

Billy Price, G, Ohio State

As you can see, most experts have the Vikings selecting an offensive lineman, with the most popular player mocked being an offensive tackle and the second most frequently mocked player is an interior lineman.

This makes sense since the team could use help upgrading their protection in the passing game and road graders when it comes to running the football.

Otherwise, defensive tackle and cornerback are both included. Unless Minnesota brings back Terence Newman and Tom Johnson or can get Sharrif Floyd back, odds are the interior of the defensive line and defensive backs could be a priority in the draft.
