Fans attending Minnesota Vikings training camp or NFL Draft parties in Eagan will be able to tailgate and purchase alcoholic beverages at the facility.

There’s nothing quite like tailgating. Hanging out with new and old friends while waiting for a Minnesota Vikings event to start can help to create a strong fanbase and build strong friendships as well.

However, with the Vikings shifting their training camp location from Mankato, Minnesota to Eagan will signal a huge change to the dynamic of how events will be handled when fans are allowed to be present.

Some good news came recently on the Sun This Week website revealing that the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan will allow tailgating and the sale of alcohol on their property.

More from The Viking Age

Sun This Week believes this will encourage more fans to check out the new state-of-the-art facility.

"“The Vikings are expecting fans to want to drink and grill during events such as training camp and a potential NFL Draft. There will also be private parties at the practice facility and headquarters where organizers would likely want to serve alcohol.”"

The permits include open flames, meaning that there will be times when fans can set up their grills or burn wood when things get cold during the late fall or winter.

Steve Poppen, executive vice president and chief financial officer with the Vikings, spoke about the importance of having some fire permits at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan.

"“A lot of it is warmth. When you get into the fall, some people like to stand around an open flame and have a drink on a chilly night.”"
