Based on rumblings at the NFL Scouting Combine, SNY reporter Ralph Vacchiano believes that the quarterback has a very good chance to sign with the Minnesota Vikings.

At first, it was thought of as just a possibility that free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins could land with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. Now, however, Cousins to the Vikings seems to inch closer and closer to becoming an actual reality as each day passes by.

Most recently, SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano reported on Wednesday from the NFL Scouting Combine that many around the league believe that the quarterback will end up with Minnesota this offseason.

"“There is rampant speculation around the league that Cousins is destined for Minnesota, where he’d replace journeyman Case Keenum on a team that just reached the NFC championship game.”"

Is this the truth or is this just another case of rumors being spread around at the NFL Scouting Combine?

Based on a few of the events that have gone down recently (Vikings not tagging Keenum and not trying to toll Teddy Bridgewater’s contract), Cousins to the Vikings is not really as crazy of an idea as it might have been a month or two ago.

If Minnesota is indeed able to sign the free-agent quarterback this offseason, it appears that the contract may not be as long as some might have previously believed. At least this is according to NFL Media’s Peter Schrager who says that Cousins is looking for a, “shorter-term deal” so that he can capitalize on the continuous growth of the quarterback market once again in a few years.

Next: Who will be the Vikings' backup QB in 2018?

Once thought of as just another team to include in the discussion, it now appears as though the Vikings are emerging as the favorites to land the free-agent quarterback this year.
