Mychal Kendricks denies Browns deal, still an option for Minnesota Vikings
By Adam Carlson
Free agent linebacker Mychal Kendricks is on the wish list of a lot of Minnesota Vikings fans, but are relieved to learn there is no deal with the Browns.
Mychal Kendricks, the brother of staring Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks, is currently a free agent after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles after six seasons with the franchise on May 22, 2018.
The Super Bowl champion was said to be signing a one-year deal with the Browns after visiting Minnesota, Oakland, and Cleveland according to Ian Rapoport on Twitter, but recent news has that report being blown out of the water.
During a conversation shared on the Pioneer Press website, Kendricks let loose on an amazing rant explaining that no deal is in place and that he is still a free agent with no deal in place with Cleveland.
"“No, it’s not accurate. I don’t know who the (expletive) said that. That (expletive) is (expletive). Whoever said that (expletive) is (expletive). That’s all I have to say, man. I’m not really talking to anybody else about it. It’s (expletive). I don’t like people like that. I don’t respect people like that. And that’s all I have to say. Thank you.’’"
The Pioneer Press also included this statement about how another publication reported the Cleveland deal with specific details.
"“The Akron Beacon Journal reported Kendricks was close to a deal with Cleveland that is expected to be finalized Monday.”"
As if that statement from Kendricks wasn’t enough, he singled out Rapoport on Twitter and let the NFL Network and NFL.com insider know that he is very displeased with the report from “sources” being released.
Tomasson reports that Kendricks was unwilling to comment about whether or not Minnesota was one of the teams that are still in the mix when it comes to a contract, but there wasn’t any conversation reported about the Vikings being eliminated from the conversation either.
It would be a lot of fun to see Mychal and Eric Kendricks on the same team, working together to help the Vikings reach the Super Bowl. While that isn’t a reality yet, at least the news that the Browns reports indicate that it is still a possibility.

Although a contract hasn’t been signed by Mychal Kendricks, fans should expect a deal to get done soon. Whether it is with the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, or Oakland Raiders, it will hopefully make both Kendricks and the chosen team happy.
