Former Minnesota Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson hosted the fourth annual Vikings Kids Camp at Mankato East High School for over 70 young football fans.

E.J. Henderson was a mainstay of the Minnesota Vikings defense for 9 years where he was a regular and linebacker and proved to be one of the only consistent parts of a struggling defensive unit from 2003 to 2011.

Over the course of his career, Henderson racked up 552 tackles and 199 assists to go with 15.5 sacks, 5 interceptions, and one defensive touchdown. However, even after his retirement from football, the linebacker continues to rack up assists.

For the fourth year in a row, Henderson hosted his Vikings Kids Camp at Mankato East High School where over 70 kids participated in football drills to help keep kids interested in the sport and promote wellness.

KEYC 12 Mankato ran a news piece on their program which featured some of the highlights from the camp including some quotes from Henderson.

"“It’s always special to come back here, it always brings back memories of camp. When we started our state movement for our kids camp, Mankato was the number one place to be just because the special memories, the players, all the above.”"

Three words were the key to this year’s Vikings Kids Camp: respect, student–athlete and perseverance. Those three terms can help provide children with a bright future in sports and possibly life in general.

Henderson continues the tradition of current and former Vikings players giving back to the community and helping youth. In fact, Henderson’s next Kids Camp will take place in Rochester, Minnesota on June 28 and 29.
