Stefon Diggs’ game-winning touchdown during the 2017 NFL playoffs earned the Minnesota Vikings an ESPY on Wednesday.
It was a moment that absolutely no Minnesota Vikings fan could have ever even imagined. The Vikings are normally on the wrong side of last-second plays, but that was not the case during their divisional round matchup against the New Orleans Saints last season.
Down one with 10 seconds remaining in the game, Minnesota quarterback Case Keenum took the snap on the Vikings’ own 39-yard line. Keenum then stepped into the pocket and fired a pass downfield to Minnesota wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
What happened after was a moment that no Vikings fan will ever forget.
Diggs crossed the goal line to an ear-shattering amount of cheers from the fans at U.S. Bank Stadium and Minnesota left the building with a win.

The play has been the recipient of numerous awards this offseason and the latest came on Wednesday night at the ESPY awards. Selected over three other moments from the sports world, the Minneapolis Miracle won the ESPY this year for Best Moment.
To accept the award on behalf of the Vikings were Diggs and Keenum. The Minnesota receiver left the audience with some words to remember.
"“If I could leave you with anything, I would say, ‘Don’t stop playing until the clock hits zero.’ It’s crazy, it’s cliché, but anything can happen.”"
Yes, the Vikings were unable to continue their momentum into the game that followed their win over the Saints. But that 10 second sequence is something that is probably going to be replayed for the rest of NFL history.
